Big Stories

Deal Under Strain

  • Vice President JD Vance met with Iranian officials in Switzerland on Sunday as negotiators worked to preserve a fragile US-Iran peace agreement signed last week. The talks focused on implementing the deal and advancing negotiations over Iran's nuclear program.

  • The agreement has already come under pressure from renewed fighting in Lebanon. Iran argues Israeli strikes violate the deal's requirement that hostilities end across all fronts, while Israel says it is responding to attacks by the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

  • The Strait of Hormuz also remains a point of contention. Iran says continued ceasefire violations justify renewed restrictions on the waterway, while the US insists the route remains open.

Europe Heat Alert

  • A heat wave pushed temperatures above 100 degrees across large parts of Europe this weekend. Forecasters expect some of the hottest conditions on Monday, with temperatures reaching 104 degrees in parts of France and Spain.

  • Countries across the continent are responding. France placed emergency services and military forces on wildfire alert, closed hundreds of schools and restricted public alcohol consumption in high-risk areas, while Spain suspended some outdoor sports and cultural events and Italy expanded heat warnings to additional cities.

  • Officials are particularly concerned about older adults, people without access to cooling, and growing wildfire risks. More than 200,000 people across Europe have died from heat-related causes over the past four years, according to the World Health Organization.

Starmer Exit Looms

  • British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to announce a timetable for his departure this week, as growing pressure from within his governing Labour Party raises the prospect of another leadership change less than two years after his election victory.

  • Several senior Labour officials have privately urged Starmer to step aside following a strong showing by Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester and a rising figure within the party. Allies increasingly expect a transition this autumn.

  • Burnham is widely viewed as the leading contender to replace Starmer as prime minister, though a formal leadership contest remains possible. A transition would make him Britain's seventh prime minister in a decade.

The New Trick to Reducing Stress Without Losing Focus

Burnout and stress can make it hard to focus and keep up at work. That pressure builds, creating a cycle that’s tough to break.

If you’re looking for a way to ease workplace stress without feeling drowsy, try CBDistillery’s Daytime Calm gummies.

Each serving contains 50mg of CBG, a non-intoxicating compound derived from hemp, formulated to support calm and daytime focus.

In a 2022 CBDistillery study, CBG was associated with:

  • Increased focus and mental clarity

  • Reduced mild, temporary anxiety

Like all CBDistillery products, Daytime Calm gummies are third-party lab tested for quality and consistency.
